Watch Arcade Fire Cover The ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Theme In Los Angeles

Montreal art-rockers Arcade Fire have been paying tribute to countless bands as they tour North America backed by their most recent album, Reflektor, and have now gifted a Los Angeles crowd with a performance of the theme from the 1984 film Beverly Hills Cop, as well as another stab at Guns N’ RosesWelcome to The Jungle.

In the footage of the performance (below), captured at LA’s The Forum on Saturday night US time, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler can be seen introducing the Beverly Hills Cop theme, which is titled Axel F. “This song is called ‘F Axl’,” Butler joked. “It’s actually written about [Guns N’ Roses frontman] Axl Rose, people don’t realise that.”

The band’s performance of Axel F led smoothly into Reflektor track Normal Person, which was given a short Welcome To The Jungle outro before the band began playing Here Comes The Night Time. Arcade Fire have also performed covers of material by bands such as Jane’s Addiction, Blondie and INXS in the past.
