Watch The Bennies Perform A TISM Classic With The Band’s Damian Cowell

Rock rascals The Bennies have teamed up with Damian Cowell from Melbourne’s beloved masked seven-piece TISM (This Is Serious Mum), to perform the classic TISM track (He’ll Never Be An) Ol’ Man River at a recent gig.

Footage captured at The Bennies’ show at Max Watt’s in Melbourne last month (below) shows Cowell, better known under his TISM pseudonym Humphrey B. Flaubert, joining the band on stage to a huge applause, before helping the boys knock out (He’ll Never Be An) Ol’ Man River with some daggy dance moves and references to fellow TISM song Greg! The Stop Sign!!.

Posting the video to Facebook, The Bennies told fans, “We all regard it as one of the highlights of our career,” and we believe them.

In February 2015, The Bennies performed an epic cover of (He’ll Never Be An) Ol’ Man River for triple j’s weekly covers segment Like A Version, but having Cowell perform on this live version makes it all that more special.

Today, The Bennies also announced a new east coast tour with shows in Belgrave, Mornington and Warrnambool around their appearances at Stonecutters Festival, I Love Life Festival and Poison City Weekender 2016.
