Watch Brisbane Teen Show Bruce Springsteen Who’s Boss With Epic Live Jam On ‘Growin’ Up’

Seeing Bruce Springsteen live is just about the most joyous things that you, as a human being, can ever experience.

Even if you don’t have a goddamn clue who Bruce Springsteen is *makes sign of the cross*, witnessing the genuine joy that comes pouring out of the veteran rocker when he performs live, coupled with the genuine joy that comes pouring out of the thousands of fans who are there to watch his the entire 3 hour+ concerts, basically makes it impossible to stop yourself from getting swept away in the good vibes and grinning like a total jerk wad.

And perhaps one of the most joyous staples of The Boss’s sets is when he invites fans up on stage to jam with his legendary E Street Band, which is exactly what happened during the Brisbane leg of his current Aussie tour. Except this time, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was actually twice-in-a-lifetime for the lucky fan in question, local teen/damn lucky SOB Nathan Testa.

Four years ago, the then-11-year-old was invited up to on the Brisbane Entertainment Centre stage to sing ‘Waitin’ on a Sunny Day’ with The Boss… and it seems he was gunning to reprise the role this time around.

Holding up a sign that read: “Missed school. In the shit now. Can I play ‘Growin’ Up’ with you?” at Thursday night’s show, Testa caught Springsteen’s eye.

The Boss asked him: “You know the song? You know it on guitar?”

Nek minnit young m8 is back up on the BEC stage with an acoustic guitar strapped around his neck, tuning up and picking the first chord to rapturous cheers from the crowd.

The pair jammed up a storm, with the Brissie young’n keeping pace with the rock legend, and even busting out a few classic rock n’ roll poses for good measure.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have seen the future of rock and roll and its name is…” Springsteen proclaimed, as Nathan whispered something — which we can probably assume was his name — into The Boss’s ear.

“Nathan Testa.”
