Watch The Cast Of Star Wars Cover Bee Gees ‘Stayin’ Alive’, Sort Of

The return of Star Wars has been a massive critical and commercial success so “it’s pretty clear that the franchise is staying alive,” explains Jimmy Fallon.

To make that completely clear the ever-genius team over at The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon made the cast of the film cover the Bee Gees classic Stayin’ Alive, even though they were completely unaware they’d done it.

Fallon stitched together scenes from all the Star Wars films to the tune of the Bee Gees disco classic. They’re not entirely in tune but they get the words and that’s all that really matters.

Far more in-tune was the cast’s a capella version of the franchise’s theme song which they performed on Fallon only last week.

The same clever video editing which saw them unknowingly cover Stayin’ Alive has been used on Barrack Obama throughout the year, delivering covers of Korn and Michael Jackson tracks.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
has been met with adoration since its release last week. It took the crown for the highest box office debut weekend globally taking $US529 million, overtaking Jurassic World which was released in June and took $US525 million.
