Watch Childish Gambino’s Strange New Short Film ‘Chicken And Futility’

The ever-evolving and increasingly murky sub-narrative behind Childish Gambino‘s second studio album Because The Internet grows even more strange with the release of a new short film appropriately titled Chicken And Futility (below).

In the three minute piece, Gambino – real name Donald Glover – is seen reading from E.E. Cummings‘ poem Annie Died The Other Day, as his friends play video games. He waxes philosophical about the ability to roll dope before decrying the futility of buying chicken from Chick-fil-A on a Sunday, and the true reason why moths are attracted to light bulbs.

Check out the full clip below, complete with its quaint yet almost morbidly philosophical turns and stoner-Sunday vibe. Chicken And Futility follows on from Gambino’s 2013 short film Clapping For The Wrong Reasons, which you can also check out below.
