Chrvches captain Lauren Mayberry is no stranger to lending her sparkling pipes to the odd cover. In the past, the synthpop songstress has had a crack at tunes by Justin Bieber, Paramore and heaps more.
And now, she’s expanded her repertoire by tackling a trio of tracks during a performance at Greg Barris’ Heart of Darkness comedy show in Brooklyn, putting her own enchanting spin on Don Henley’s Boys Of Summer, Ben Folds Five’s Brick and — most interestingly of all — Miley Cyrus’s 2013 radio earwig Wrecking Ball.
In footage of the performance, Mayberry giggles as she forgets the words to the first verse of Cyrus’s chart-smashing hit, sparking a good-spirited LOL from the crowd (it is a comedy show, after all). But, in the end, home girl nails it.
