Watch Chvrches Play Through A Huge Lightning Storm

Step aside, Metallica, it’s Chvrches‘ turn to ride the lightning. During a recent sold-out show at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion, an outdoor venue in Columbus, Ohio, the Scottish trio were in the middle of playing to a rain-soaked crowd when lightning struck, and we don’t mean figuratively.

Randy Malloy, the owner of local alternative radio station CD102.5-FM, was luckily seated side-of-stage as the band was midway through a performance of the track Strong Hand from their debut album The Bones of What You Believe, and they, as the band write, “brought the actual thunder.”

According to Malloy, who helpfully made a GIF of the impressive natural light show (see Chvrches’ tweet below) the band was quoted as saying their performance at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion was their “biggest and best show ever.” Check out footage of the Strong Hand performance below.
