Watch Coldplay Honour Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell With ‘Black Hole Sun’

Coldplay have honoured late Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell by performing a section of Soundgarden’s hit single ‘Black Hole Sun’ during a recent show.

Performing in Cornell’s native Seattle on Saturday night, Chris Martin and company closed out their song ‘The Scientist’ with a few notes and lyrics from the chorus of ‘Black Hole Sun’, before saying Cornell’s name to the crowd.

Since the cover, Cornell’s widow Vicky Cornell has taken to Twitter to thank Coldplay, saying, “Thank you Coldplay for keeping Chris Cornell’s memory alive.”

Coldplay’s Soundgarden mini-cover (which you can watch below) comes after the band covered a Linkin Park song in tribute to the late Chester Bennington in New Jersey back in August, which left surprised expressions on many a Linkin Park fan.

Coldplay are currently touring North America as part of their ‘A Head Full Of Dreams Tour’, which hit Australia in December 2016.
