Watch Courtney Barnett Explain Aussie Slang, Perform On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Aussie rocker Courtney Barnett has used her Saturday Night Live debut to perform two tracks from her debut album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, while also enlightening America about some finer points of Australian slang.

As the musical guest for SNL‘s latest season finale, Barnett impressed the crowd with her performance of the Sometimes I Sit… album cuts Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party and Pedestrian At Best, but before the show she decided to teach SNL‘s Bobby Moynihan about singlets, utes and Paul Hogan.

Catch footage of the cute (and ever so slightly awkward) slang lesson below, alongside Barnett’s SNL performances.

After her current jaunt through the US and Canada, Barnett is returning to Australia for Barunga Festival in June before heading to Europe, only to return down under in July for Splendour In The Grass.
