The reformed Garbage are currently touring the US on the back of their new album Not Your Kind of People, recently stopping at Atlantic City on May 25. So far their shows have been met with positive reactions from fans enjoying seeing one of their favourite bands back on stage again, but at this particular show, a male fan found it necessary to cause a female fan some grief.
The band launched into their classic hit Stupid Girl, and just as Shirley Manson was about to reach the chorus, she noticed a man in the pit hitting a female fan. Manson instantly stopped singing, and yelled “Whoa, whoa, whoa, get the fuck off her right now!”, and then turned to the band to tell them to stop playing their instruments. She then turned back to the man and said: “Dude. Never hit a fucking woman. What the fuck is wrong with you, man?”. She then made some jokes with the crowd: “She started it? Oh, Jesus Christ — OK”, then blew him a kiss and told him he had to leave.
Hopefully we should expect to see Garbage in Australia sometime soon, maybe around the summer festival period?
