Watch: Jack White Perform Guerilla Set At ‘Outside Lands’ 2012

Jack White was already scheduled to appear at this year’s instalment of Outside Lands, the three day music festival that takes place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and had one hell of a lineup, with acts such as Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Beck and Bloc Party.

But rather than simply showing up for his Sunday slot in-between Skrillex and Stevie Wonder, White decided to drive his bright yellow Third Man Records bus into the bush and treat unsuspecting fans to a gig in the dirt. According to Diffuser, White and band delighted festivalgoers with songs such as 2012 single Love Interruption and White Stripes’ tune Hotel Yorba (you can check out the performance below).

The surprise set comes only days after White put on a secret show at a service station in Denver. The show came hours before White’s performance before a sold-out crowd at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Alerting fans 30 mins before the surprise 20-minute set, approximately 300 fans managed to turn up in time to see White tear it up on the sidewalk.
