La Casa Artist Residency is fast becoming the place to be for creatives with a need to get away from it all. Already the digs have housed the likes of Goons Of Doom, Donavon Frankenreiter, Alpine and photographer Ryan Heywood, not to mention the small crowd of artists who stopped by for a cheeky surf. Now it’s the delightful Julia Stone’s turn to kick back and let the house work its magic.
Julia gets up close and personal in the below video, chatting with the La Casa team about the winding road that is life:
“Even now, I feel like, ‘Yeah, this is where I’m meant to be’ and then ‘Is it? Is it where I’m meant to be? Yes, it’s where I’m meant to be.’ I think it’s like that for everybody.”
We’ve all been there. At least she found herself in a good place.
By The Horns, the latest release from Stone, dropped last May and has since proven to have serious legs on it, still getting love from radio and iPods everywhere. Time will tell what it is exactly she got up to while jamming at La Casa but with that much creativity in the air, it’s sure to be awesome.
