Watch Listen Out Sydney Fencejumpers Take On Security

Footage of gate-crashers rushing the fence at the Sydney leg of Listen Out 2014 has surfaced online. The footage depicts a mass of punters running towards a fence and jumping over as security attempt to stop them. Similar behaviour was responsible for the injury of a guard during the event on Saturday.

As Music Feeds reported yesterday, a 29-year-old security guard was hospitalised with internal bleeding and a ruptured spleen after he was trampled at Listen Out Sydney. The incident occured at approximately 4:40pm (AEST) at Randwick’s Centennial Park after security responded to a group of fence-jumpers like those seen in the video. During the incident, the guard fell and “a person landed heavily on his abdomen”.

While it’s important to note that it’s not clear if the footage below depicts the incident that resulted in the guard’s injury, gate-crashing has become a concern for many festival organisers. Back in March, fence-jumpers at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival left a 28-year-old female guard with life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, police are on the lookout for a man they believe can help them with their enquiries into the incident during Listen Out Sydney. He’s described as being in his late teens to mid-20s, with short dark-brown hair, and was wearing red shorts and a grey t-shirt. If you have any information related to the incident you can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via Crime Stoppers online reporting.
