It blew minds all over the country when it was revealed that one of our own was an integral part to the upcoming Eminem record, MMLP2, and now the M-Phazes-produced cut Bad Guy has its own Making Of clip, going from the first beat to the final version of the track.
Speaking on the track’s creation is M-Phazes collaborator S1, who speaks in glowing terms of his time spent working with the Aussie producer on the track. The synth hook that first pricks up your ears and the relentless bass line which has you itching for more is all M-Phazes’ handiwork, and seems to be the genesis of the track.
Once the beat was set, S1 rolled with it and teamed up with serial partner in crime Sarah Jaffe – together known as The Dividends – who penned the lyrics for the chorus, put them down over the track before shipping the product to Eminem himself for some Shady input.
M-Phazes is long past keeping his head down low, with the producer now on everyone’s radar Universal Music Publishing who were first in, signing the producer up for an international publishing deal – no small deal.
