Watch: Metallica Perform ‘Ride The Lightning’ Album Live At Orion

Written by Brayden Darke on June 25, 2012

Metallica headlined the first day of their Orion Music Festival in Atlantic City over the weekend, performing their second studio album Ride the Lightning in its entirety (and backwards). In recent European shows the group have been known to perform their classic self-titled Black Album, but this is the first time that they’ve performed Ride the Lightning. Watch it below.

Orion was curated by the band themselves, in conjunction with C3 Presents, who also organise Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and will be giving Big Day Out organisers some help with their 2013 event.

Although you’d think predictably it would be a festival for heavier music, it actually includes various music genres, including acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Best Coast and Roky Erickson to name a few. Arts and lifestyle elements that reflect the band members’ interests are also a feature of the event.
