Watch: Neil Young Perform New Song ‘Twisted Road’

During a Neil Young and Crazy Horse performance last night at Red Rock, Colorado, the prolific songwriter sat onstage alone and unveiled a new acoustic track that, according to multiple reports, is titled Twisted Road. If the reported song name is correct, then it may be the title track from Young’s next record, which, according to Undercover, has the working tile of Twisted Road and is due out sometime in 2013.

The footage is taken from way up in the nosebleed section, but the sound is of a high enough quality that you can make out the words, and of course Young’s distinctive vocals. As for the new song, the lyrics pay tribute to a selection of musical acts that have impacted Young’s life.

As noted by Stereo Gum, the new song mentions Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan and Good Times by Sam Cooke, and it talks of listening to The Grateful Dead on the radio.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse recently released their latest record, Americana, the first record from the band’s complete lineup since 1996’s Broken Arrow.
