Northeast Party House have brought down the triple j party house down with their ripping Like A Version effort.
After stepping up to the plate with a potent rendish of their OG tune ‘Calypso Beach’, the Melbourne half-dozen hit one out of the park with their take on Childish Gambino’s monster hit ‘Redbone’, lifting the beloved R&B hymn to a new dimension by transforming it into a vocal duet, with added powerhouse vocals from Saskwatch’s Nkechi Anele.
Savvy eardrums will also note a sneaky nod to Splendour In The Grass headliners LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Dance Yrself Clean’ chucked into the mix, with Northeast Party House’s version of ‘Redbone’ bleeding into an LCD-inspired electro jam towards the end.
This is definitely in the top percentile of 2017 Like A Versions.
