Watch: Official Trailer For Dave Grohl’s ‘Sound City’ Doco Released

There’s already been a bunch of teasers and previews of Dave Grohl’s upcoming documentary about legendary recording studio, Sound City, but today we’ve had the official trailer get its release, meaning that after roughly a year or so of waiting, we’re finally about to get the final product.

The trailer features music from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and a smorgasboard of all the famous faces we’re expecting to see pop up in the film, including the Foo Fighter frontman himself, Josh Homme; Lars Ulrich; Tommy Petty; Trent Reznor; and Butch Vig to name a few.

The film will be premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, which kicks off in Park City, Utah (US) on 17th January, but we’ll be hearing plenty more about it on our airwaves for the next few months as Triple M will be playing a segment titled Dave Grohl Presents Sound City, a weekly broadcast that began on Monday (3rd December) and will conclude on Monday, January 28th 2013.

Throughout the broadcast we’ll hear songs recorded at the Studio, with each week covering a different period of Sound City’s history. The final episode will have Grohl talking about his motivations behind making the film. Grohl released the following statement about the show:

I’m so proud of the Sound City film and beyond excited for the world to see what I’ve been working on for the past year. Even before that, though, I’m grateful to Triple M, and radio networks around the world, for giving me the opportunity to share all this great music and to let people know what got me excited about Sound City in the first place.
