Watch Paramore’s Silky Cover Of ‘Passionfruit’ By Drake

Drake is notorious for his hyper-smooth vocals that make up a huge part of his sound as a whole, so taking on a cover of any of Drake’s songs is a massive challenge and ultimately a bold call.

Luckily Paramore have Hayley Williams at the helm, and if anyone was going to channel their inner Drizzy, Williams would be a safe bet. Indeed, she absolutely crushed it singing his lines when the band dropped by Radio 1’s Live Lounge recently to perform a cover of ‘Passionfruit’.

One of Drake’s most successful and sultry singles from his 2017 album More Life, the US five piece added several layers instruments to their take on the track, creating a gorgeously dense cover.

Unsurprisingly, Williams’ vocals were the clear highlight, as she seamlessly sung parts in her own range while also venturing into the lower realms of her ability for certain phrases.

Paramore are on a bit of a roll with covers at the moment, recently covering The Strokes’ iconic 2001 track ‘Someday’ at a live show in Nashville.

Their fifth studio album After Laughter was released just last month as well.

Check out the cover below.
