Watch QOTSA Reteam With Nick Oliveri, Play Classic Tunes For Halloween

Queens Of The Stone Age‘s Halloween gig was always going to be a corker. We knew to expect epic costumes and special guests, but the fun didn’t end there. The band really did pull out all stops to make sure this was the Halloween gig fans were hoping for, bringing out Jake Shears, playing a 6-song encore with Nick Oliveri, and playing a handful of cuts for the first time in a decade.

The gig, at The Forum in Los Angeles, boasted a haunted house and costume contest while also featuring sets from The Kills, JD McPherson, and Oliveri’s Uncontrollable. QOTSA opened their set with Keep Your Eyes Peeled alongside Scissor Sisters’ vocalist Jake Shears, who sings on the album version.

Closing their set on Songs for the Deaf track You Think I Ain’t Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire, the band momentarily paused as former QOTSA bassist Nick Oliveria made his way onstage. Oliveri’s appearance with QOTSA was expected, with Oliveri revealing in September he’d be on hand to perform an encore set.

But what fans probably didn’t expect was for QOTSA to reach into the vault and play some cuts that hadn’t been performed live in a decade. A devil-horned Oliveri sung alongside QOTSA frontman Josh Homme, himself dressed as a priest, as the band finished up …Millionaire. From there QOTSA played Quick and to the Pointless, Another Love Song, and Gonna Leave You for the first time since 2004.

QOTSA, along with Oliveri, also played Auto Pilot, which was last performed live in 2005, and closed the Halloween show appropriately enough on A Song for the Dead. The Halloween-themed show was tagged The End Of The Road and comes as QOTSA’s last concert behind last year’s LP …Like Clockwork.

You can check out QOTSA open their set with Jake Shears, and play alongside Oliveri in the encore, along with the full setlist, below.
