Watch Queens Of The Stone Age Interviewed By 12-Year-Old Girls

The next generation of music journalists has well and truly arrived, with 7th graders Olivia and Connie releasing the latest episode of Kids Interview Bands, featuring Josh Homme and Dean Fertita of Queens Of The Stone Age fame.

Not to be confused with the Rookie campaign inviting musicians to give advice to teenage girls, Kids Interview Bands is just about “having a lot of fun getting the chance to talk to all the great artists who have agreed to sit down and chat with them”.

If the girls were intimidated by the presence of rock music royalty, they certainly didn’t show it, and Queens certainly give them no reason to be. Homme is patient and genuine with the questions. which don’t get much deeper other than, “As a child, which TV show character were you most afraid of?”.

Fans of the band will be pleased to know both Homme and Fertita are good with kids and the G-rated version of the two shows them in a light we don’t normally see from such hardened musicians, and the girls draw better answers from them than most seasoned music journos would get.

Other bands who have agreed to be grilled by 12-year-old girls include Dillinger Escape Plan, Ellie Goulding, Garbage and The Polyphonic Spree so, as adorable as it may be, these girls are clearly killing it.

QOTSA recently welcomed their latest opus, …Like Clockwork, into the world, which soared to No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart and continues to remain an ever-present force on the airwaves. Queens Of The Stone Age have also promised that they would return to Australia on their world tour, but probably not until mid-next year.
