Watch: Robert Plant Tackled On Stage

Robert Plant was tackled to the ground by an overenthusiastic fan during a recent gig at Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Led Zeppelin frontman is obviously no stranger to fan adulation as the final minute on the clip shows Plant wrapping up his set with the Zeppelin classic Rock and Roll to massive applauds.

However, for the fan in question it seems that hooting and clapping were insufficient methods of displaying his affection. With a ‘Whole Lotta Love’ (sorry, some jokes are so lame they have to be made) the young man strode across the front stage to deliver the most aggressive of hugs.

The would-be cuddle buddy’s speed sent Plant into defence mode as he braced for impact. Security rushed in just in the nick of time with Plant being momentarily sandwiched between security and the fan, before hitting the ground. The foiled audience member is then dragged off stage as Plant regains his footing and asks security to go ‘easy’ on the overzealous fan.

Laughing off the incident, Plant thanked the entire crowd for the fun, before shaking his head in bemusement, pointing over to where the fan was taken off and muttering, “That was pretty good.”

Robert Plant and his band The Sensational Space Shifters will be in Australia next year for Bluesfest 2013. Based on the footage below, it seems that festivalgoers are in for a cracker of a show.
