Watch: Santigold And Earl Sweatshirt Collaboration “Will Be Done Soon”

Santigold has revealed a little more info on her collaboration with Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt in a recent interview. Having just released her new album Master of My Make-Believe, she found time back in February to help the then recently returned wunderkind out with a new track.

“I don’t have many plans these days. I just kinda, like, soon as I can get stuff done,” she said. “It’s something I really want to do, so hopefully it will be done soon.”

Speaking to MTV, she goes on to talk about how the two came together: “I saw a tweet”, she begins, “I guess somebody re-tweeted that Earl said ‘I like Santigold, would love to do something’, and I was like, ‘OK!’ “, she laughs. “I mean, he’s so cool, he’s such a cute, awesome dude.”

Earl (with Odd Future’s Taco) was then seen dancing with her on stage at Coachella last month: “They were at Coachella, and they were the first ones up onstage — we invite people up onstage [during her performance] — and they came and did some major booty-shaking moves. And a couple of them came to our MOCA show in LA. We did this event that Mike D curated … and they came there and caught the show.”

Earl recently signed a deal to release his soon-to-be-expected solo album via his own label, which will be called Tan Cressida. The label will be distributed by Columbia Records/Sony.
