Watch System Of A Down Rip ‘Toxicity’ Live, With A Little Help From Chino Moreno

System Of A Down have brought out the big guns for an extra-memorable rendition of Toxicity during their headlining performance at this year’s Rock In Rio concert.

“I wanna invite a special guest,” frontman Serj Tankian proclaimed before launching in to the titular track off the band’s landmark 2001 album. “A good friend of ours – Chino from the Deftones to sing this next song with us.”

In officially-shot footage of the performance, guitarist Daron Malakian welcomes Deftones/Crosses ††† legend Chino Moreno to the stage, calling him “a long-time brother of System of a Down”, before the band bust out an epic, super-charged rendition of the frantic fan fave.

Moreno and Tankian split vocal duties and Malakian uses the song’s bridge to incite a monstrous circle-pit.

System are currently in the midst of their Wake Up the Souls world tour to mark 100 years since the Armenian Genocide during World War I.

We’re still very upset that no Australian dates have been announced, but we’re keeping our devil horns crossed.

There’s also a sixth SOAD record on its way. Bassist Shavo Odadjian confirmed earlier this year that the band have already written some new songs: “We’re keeping it to ourselves. We’re getting back to the bullshit of being together”, he said.

While you wait to hear what they’ve been cooking up, check out System’s epic Rock In Rio performance of Toxicity with Chino Moreno, below.
