After releasing the tripped-out official music video for their debut Currents single, Cause I’m A Man, Tame Impala have unfurled a follow-up, uh, “live” video for the same track.
The Dan Dipaola and Megan McShane-directed clip features the band sporting a minimalist look as they give a no-strings-attached performance of their newest single, against a psychedelic backdrop.
Though we’re all for artistic experimentation, we can’t help but feel like Tame Impala’s performance here is just a little bit inanimate. Even for a band who are normally pretty chill onstage, the guys just don’t seem to look all that comfortable here. It’s almost as if they’ve got someone’s hand up their butts.
Fuck it, they’re Muppets. It’s because they’re Muppets. Tame Impala are Muppets.
