Watch The Used Mash Up Linkin Park’s ‘Shadow Of The Day’ With A U2 Classic

The Used have paid tribute to Linkin Park by busting out a heartfelt rendition of the nu-metal act’s 2007 single ‘Shadow Of The Day’ during their current UK tour.

To make their rendition even more special, Bert McCracken & co also mashed up the Minutes To Midnight ballad with U2‘s equally powerful classic ‘With Or Without You’ and you can watch fan-shot footage of the whole thing below.

It comes after singer & freshly-minted Aussie McCracken recently confessed that Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington “saved his life”.

Opening up about his band’s emotionally raw record The Canyon, McCracken revealed that many of his lyrics were inspired by Chester’s loss.

“There’s a lot of stigma surrounding depression, we know there’s no cure. And to speak of suicide with any connotations to selfishness makes me sick and so angry that I end conversations immediately,” he told Forbes.

“Chester was there for me at a time where I was deadly suicidal and he saved my life in 2004. The fact that nobody was able to be there for him in those moments is something we all should think about.”

It’s an apt time to reflect on his words since tomorrow is R U OK Day, when we’re encouraged to reach out to our friends and peers and offer support for anyone who might be struggling.
