Watch Tool’s Maynard James Keenan Perform In A Tutu On The Band’s US Tour

Today, 2nd February, is World Tutu Day (yep, it’s a thing), and humankind has coincidentally been blessed with footage of Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan performing in a tutu at the last show of the band’s US tour.

What a time to be alive.

Keenan’s tutu shenanigans took place in New Orleans on Sunday night, and also saw the singer don a corset, fishnets, boots and a top hat before performing Tool tracks and a cover of Led Zeppelin’s No Quarter… as you do in that sort of attire.

Available footage of Keenan on stage in his tutu getup (below) isn’t the best quality, but you can definitely see him strutting his stuff in his risque new outfit — just look left of drummer Danny Carey for Keenan’s figure-hugging silhouette.

On the previous night of Tool’s US tour, 30th January, a number of band members pranked their opening act 3Teeth by rushing the stage dressed in animal onesies which 3Teeth called “very sexy furry outfits”. And yes, some twerking was involved. Catch footage of that special moment below as well.

Never afraid of dressing up, Keenan also disguised himself as Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant late last year when Tool debuted a new song which is said to titled Descending.

As for that longggggg-awaited new Tool album, we haven’t heard much from the band since they said it was “coming together” in November last year. Oh and for more information on World Tutu Day, head to the World Tutu Day website.
