Watch This ‘Voice’ Contestant Score A Chair-Turn With Cover Of Slipknot’s ‘Psychosocial’

A rare moment of heavy metal on a reality TV talent show is kind of like the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling competition; its occurrence confuses most people but at least it’s entertaining for the rest of us to watch.

Case in point: this dude who just covered Slipknot on the sixth season of hit TV series The Voice in Finland.

Granted, Finland has more mainstream love for metal than most other places in the world, which could be part of the reason why old m8 earned himself a chair-turn from one of the judges for his ripping rendition of ‘Psychosicial’.

While the other judges quivered in fear, Hanoi Rocks frontman and former Guns N’ Roses collaborator Michael Monroe alone went wild for the cover, proving that not all people = shit.

And while the judges’ critiques may get lost in translation in the video below (if you don’t speak Finnish, that is) it’s not hard to vibe on the enthusiasm that Monroe has for his new team member’s huge metal chops.

Check it out.
