Wolf Alice have taken on one of Green Day‘s most instantly recognisable songs ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’, stripping it back completely.
The track is already one of Green Day’s most acoustic numbers but Wolf Alice’s version, covered in Radio 1’s Live Lounge, makes it even more fragile than ever before.
It’s particularly striking given that we’re mostly used to hearing Wolf Alice with sweeping, raucous instrumentation. It’s rare that we get to hear front woman Ellie Roswell so bare.
The British band will release their second record Visions Of A Life next week, two years after they created a huge buzz with their debut album My Love Is Cool.
They will return to Australia next year for Laneway Festival with a swag of new tunes to unleash on us.
