Watch: Wolfmother Frontman Andrew Stockdale Removed From His Own Show By Security

Footage has emerged of Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale being removed from his own concert by security after what’s been called a “drunken set” in Byron Bay.

Footage supplied to Music Feeds (below) from Wolfmother’s free show at Beach Hotel on Friday, 24th November shows a clearly buzzed Stockdale having his microphone taken off him at the end of the show, before he starts shaking hands with the crowd and is eventually escorted by security.

Wolfmother fan Josh Parkinson, who was at the show, says Stockdale and co. both opened and closed the show with ‘Joker & The Thief’ — as part of “a two-hour drunken set” which also featured covers of AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ and The Doors’ ‘Riders On The Storm’ — but it was at the end of the show that things got a bit out of hand.

“Management were telling them to finish up, but they stayed on stage and finished with ‘Joker & The Thief’ again,” Parkinson says.

“And while they were playing that last song he jumped down from stage to get to the crowd but the security escorted him out. 11/10 unforgettable night.”

Since the show, Wolfmother have released a statement thanking the crowd for “turning it on the other night”, and pretty much admitting that they had a little too much fun.

“Let’s just say a few beers in one of the most spectacularly located pubs in the world almost got the better of us. We’re happy to say we made it through and are better for it,” say the band.

“The show was colourful and unique, let’s just say that. It’s definitely one to be remembered, even though it’s slightly hard to remember it, thanks to all the who came along, thanks to the good people of The Beachy.”

Wolfmother released their latest single ‘Freedom Is Mine’ independently earlier this month, after revealing their latest album Victorious last year.

The band will play another free show at the same venue this Saturday, 2nd December.
