Lauryn Hill has made up for her Grammys no-show by joining The Weeknd on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform In The Night.
Hill was expected to join The Weeknd on stage at the Grammys last week but she was a no-show leaving him to perform by himself. According to a representative from the recording academy (via ET Online) Hill “failed to show up in time for the performance.”
A rep for Hill hit back saying that the performance was never confirmed as she had concerts all weekend and had no time to rehearse for the event.
Whatever the situation was, she eventually found the time to rehearse and joined The Weeknd mid-way through a stripped-back version of In The Night from his 2015 record Beauty In The Madness.
It was a stunning rendition and The Weeknd was unsurprisingly stoked by the opportunity to work with Hill. “Most important experience of my life. thank you Ms. Hill,” he wrote on Twitter following the performance.
