When he’s not touring as bassist for Van Halen, the son of founding member Eddie is up to all sorts of things. Currently touring with Mark Tremonti, the rock royalty heir had a run-in with a particular British boy band that left a very bad impression.
It’s not really known what went down, but as far as we can make out from Wolfgang’s tweets, while walking through the lobby of a Birmingham, England hotel with fellow touring musicians performing with Tremonti, Eric Friedman and Garrett Whitlock, the three ran into One Direction, who weren’t very nice.
“Fun fact: Was just insulted by that s—-y boy band #OneDirection in the lobby of our hotel”, he tweeted, before backing up the story in a couple of follow-up tweets.
Whitlock also blew off the encounter, tweeting a similar sense of contempt for the group: “I can’t take a insult from someone who doesn’t even write there [sic] own tunes.”
We’ll see who has the last laugh here, One Direction.
Fun fact: Was just insulted by that shitty boy band #OneDirection in the lobby of our hotel this morning! Greetings Birmingham!
