Music Feeds and its parent company Evolve Media, LLC are on the hunt for skilled and passionate freelance writers to join our news team as part of Australia’s most popular music news website.

We cover everything from news to feature interviews, album reviews and gig reviews, and we’re looking for someone who is creative and always plugged into local and international music news to help us bring the latest and greatest stories to our readers.

As a part of this ridiculously good looking team you will pitch, research and write daily news articles and the odd feature story, working closely with Music Feeds’ News Editor and Managing Editor.

Our ideal candidate has news reporting experience, is fast and reliable, and has a nose for news angles and a passion for music and pop culture. We’re also looking for writing with a distinctive and authoritative tone, and the ability to whip up snappy headlines and clever Facebook captions.

Social media know-how and a broad knowledge of music across all genres is a must, as is immaculate grammar and spelling. Knowledge of the WordPress CMS and basic HTML and photo editing skills will also be looked upon favourably.

Basically, if you’re constantly annoying your friends with all the latest developments in the music world, we want to hear from you.

Successful applicants will also have the chance to write for Evolve Media’s other sites Crave Australia and The Fashion Spot Australia.

Applicants based in Sydney will be preferred (as that’s where we’re based), but applications will be accepted from anywhere in Australia.

To apply, send your CV, examples of published work and a brief cover letter to jobs@musicfeeds.com.au with the subject line “Music News Reporter” before Monday, 24th October.

Good luck!
