Yeasayer Leak New Album Via Online Scavenger Hunt

Brooklyn band Yeasayer have leaked their new record Fragrant World ahead of its August release date in order to avoid being beaten to the punch. In a photographed statement posted on the band’s Facebook page, and kindly transcribed by triple j, Yeasayer explains the reasons for leaking the record and how fans can gain access to the tracks.

“We have received a message that we are on the verge of embargoed information being leaked through the cracks of the digital universe.”

“In order to have the edge we have created PSCYVOTV, standing for PREEMPTIVE SELF-COMMISSIONED YEASAYER VORSTELLUNG or TRACK VISUALIZER.”

What this means is that fans can check out Yeasayer’s Facebook and/or Twitter account and decipher clues in order to gain access to the various songs from Fragrant World, which have been scattered out across the internet.

The tracks will be up for discovery until Friday, August 3 (tomorrow) but for those of you who don’t have the time or inclination to hunt, triple j have created a cheat sheet.
