You Will Soon be Able To Stream Placebo’s Back Catalogue Online

After years of resisting, London rockers Placebo have announced plans to make their entire back catalogue available on streaming sites worldwide, in the lead up to the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut.

Placebo have previously declined to make their music available on streaming platforms but, in light of the upcoming 2016 20th anniversary of their debut album, have now changed tack and will release one album a day over the course of one week on various streaming platforms worldwide, such as Spotify and Deezer.

Things will kick off with their self-titled debut on Monday 16th February and will continue until Sunday 22nd February with their Covers release, which was a bonus disc on 2003’s Sleeping With Ghosts. See the full schedule below.

Additionally, Placebo will re-release their albums remastered for the first time on high quality 180 gr vinyl. The first release will be their debut album on very limited edition red vinyl, as part of Record Store Day celebrations on 18th April.

Placebo recently announced that drummer Steve Forrest has left the band. Forrest joined the London outfit in 2008 and toured with them over the last two album campaigns, including shows in Australia as part of Soundwave 2014. The band noted that Forrest left to “pursue his own musical ambitions” and that “the departure was amicable”.

Taking on the role as Placebo’s new touring drummer for their current UK tour is Matt Lunn, former Colour of Fire drummer, who supported Placebo on various tours back in 2004.

Place have promised to reveal more exclusive archive material and additional special events around the 20 Year anniversary, “in due course”.
