YouTube To Stream Weekend Two Of Coachella In 360-Degree Vision

After the huge success of YouTube’s three simultaneous channels streaming Coachella this weekend just gone, the Google-owned video site has announced that it will be taking things up a notch for weekend number two.

YouTube introduced 360-degree videos in 2015, giving viewers a fully encompassing interactive view of videos – and allowing users to move their mouse or tilt their mobile device to view every available angle.

Now the video hosting service will offer live streaming in 360-degrees using drones, a feature set to be launched with select live-streaming of the second weekend of Coachella 2016. The first 360-degree concert will be Dawn Richard, whilst YouTube have also confirmed that Run the Jewels, The Kills and Matt & Kim‘s sets will all be streamed in encompassing 360-degree vision.

YouTube has also announced that they will also launch a featured called “spatial audio” which is designed to match the different audio levels from varying sources that a user may come across when using the 360-degree viewing stream – giving the illusion of space and depth to the sound depending on what you may be looking at.
