The influential, yet mysterious DJ/Producer known only as Zomby will be in Australia next month for this year’s OutsideIn festival and it’s just been announced he’ll be hitting up Melbourne’s New Guernica for his first-ever performance in the city.
Armed with his latest album With Love and his tastemarker lauded back catalogue, Zomby is sure to put on a performance worthy of the occasion. The DJ is yet to reveal his real name, or even his face, and the only thing he does less than interviews is actual performances making news of upcoming gigs all the more special.
With high fives from Fact Magazine, Pitchfork and The Guardian, the one thing that’s easily accessible from Zomby are his tunes, including the 2008 mega hit Where Were U in ’92, a call to arms for all the OG ravers out there.
Released as two different volumes, With Love is truly testament to Zomby’s ability to produce dance music for the thinking man. One part DF killers, one half emotionally charged arrangements, With Love is the perfect balance of soulful dance and sprawling love.
