Late Of The Pier; not to be confused with the sexual position

Late Of The Pier are a British dance-punk band who have all but disbanded since releasing 2010 single, Best In Class. I’ve been hanging out for a follow-up to debut album Fantasy Black Channel (2008) but since all members are working with different bands and side projects at the moment, I thought it would be best to get you to have a listen before I forget all about them.

Hailing from Castle Donington (central England, population 7000), Late Of The Pier’s music combines nu-rave (remember nu-rave?) and hard rock elements. All sorts of influences shine through; Mad Dogs and Englishmen sounds like a B-52s joint, while Gary Numan comes through strongly on Bathroom Gurgle. My personal favourite Heartbeat, is a song that I love and hate as it will fire up any self-respecting dance floor (if you haven’t lost them trying to mix the song’s switching time signatures).

For fans of the artists mentioned earlier, as well as similar bands like Klaxons and Metronomy.

Break…
