Alex Cameron – ‘The Comeback’

Seekae singer-turned-sleaze-pop-star Alex Cameron is back with a theatrical video for new single The Comeback, seeing him playing to an empty theatre as he performs in character as washed-up TV idol Ken DuPont, singing about getting his show back.

While his long-serving saxophonist/business partner Roy Malloy is nowhere to be seen in the clip, Alex is all “hips and nips” in this stripped-back clip, which sees him channel Nick Cave, except from a parallel universe where he’s emotional broken by his failed career. It’s gold.

Cameron, on the other hand, is riding high having just come off tours supporting Mac DeMarco and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and with his debut album Jumping The Shark slated for release on Thursday, 19th August.

Set to head out on his own headline tour of the UK in November, Cameron unfortunately doesn’t seem to have any plans to come home and visit his fans (and estranged children) here in Australia anytime soon, so we’ll just have to appreciate the mad carnival of misery that is his world from afar. Don’t keep up waiting too long though, it pays to remember where you got your start mate.
