Aloe Blacc On Music Feeds TV

Breaking through into the mainstream with his runaway hit I Need A Dollar, Stones Throw artist Aloe Blacc’s contemporary take on classic soul is as timeless as it is infectious. Working in the industry for over a decade, playing in hip hop group Edamon as well as pusuing his solo work, Aloe is a rare musician in today’s music world, a man more concerned with pleasing himself than pleasing his bankers.

You can hear in his music a tenderness and sensitivity to the traditions of soul that few artists today can match, setting himself apart from cheap soul throwback artists and proving his much more than soul’s equivalent to Michael Buble.

Set to tour Australia in January next year with his band, playing on the Falls Festival 2011/2012 lineup as well as a run of his own headline theatre shows we caught up with the songwriter while out here for a promotional tour.
