Beck – ‘Wow’

Beck has just released a surreal pop-culture mish-mash of a video to accompany his bangin’ head-bopping-pop single, Wow.

It’s a chaotic amalgamation of multi-coloured and distorted realities. There’s barren Western landscapes, melting Salvador Dali-esque heads, ’80s video games, flowers with eye balls, and windswept dogs. All the while, Beck just dances like a badass on a street corner, dressed head to toe in a gentlemen’s cowboy suit and hat.

This video was directed by Beck with the help of Grady Hall, who also worked with a whole lot of contributing visual artists leading up to the initial release of the song back in June.

The release of Wow marked a notable genre shift for the previously folk-driven Beck, who is still working on the album that will follow his 2014 Grammy Award winning Morning Phase. Here’s hoping it’s not too far off.
