BIGSOUND 2014: Airling On Her Year Of Firsts

Hannah Shepherd has been having a big year, to say the least. Known to her fans as Airling, she’s has been kicking goals all over, unveiling her first EP, embarking on her first tour, and even scoring herself a spot at Splendour In The Grass. We caught up with Hannah at BIGSOUND to find out what it’s like being her amongst all this craziness.

“It’s relatively normal, because I’ve always been me, but it’s been extremely different and exciting lately,” she explains. “I was saying before to someone, it seems like the most exciting time in my life so far is happening right now. So yeah, I’m stoked.”

There have been more than a few highlights too. “I think one of the big ones was when we played the Opera House with James Vincent McMorrow,” she said. “It was like our third show [as Airling] and we rolled up to the Opera House and it was one of the moments where you’re like… this is something you dream about.”
