BIGSOUND 2014: Sampology On His Exciting New Projects

Brisbane DJ and audio visual wizard Sam Poggioli, aka Sampology, has attended BIGSOUND numerous times, being in his homEtown and all, but 2014 marked his first ever showcase there, and as he told Music Feeds’ Mike Hohnen, he used the platform to debut his brand new live show.

“It’s completely new,” said the DJ. “There’s still a very big visual component behind me that’s all custom made visuals. I’m using stuff I’ve learnt from the visual show and bringing that in to add to the original music.”

The show will kick off Sampology’s new album cycle, promoting a new record due out sometime in 2015. It will a host a number of collaborations, including one track Shine A Light, featuring the vocal stylings of Melbourne soul sensation Daniel Merriweather.

“It’s kind of like carnival, gospel almost,” said Sampology describing the track. He explains it was inspired both by Brazilian dance music and gospel choirs. We can’t wait to hear it.
