BIGSOUND 2014: Vin From Gold Fields On Gold Fields 2.0

Gold Field guitarist Vin Andanar sat down recently with Music Feeds’ very own Mike Hohnen during Brisbane’s BIGSOUND 2014 music conference to discuss all that’s going on in the “nervous” Gold Fields camp as they gear up to debut a whole new, revamped live show.

“We’re all nervous because it’s the first show in six months – we had a bit of a break – and it’s a new live show, we’ve got a lot of new instruments. It’s pretty much new to us, even the old songs are new to us because we re-did them to suit the current vibe,” explains Vin.

While the band say they took a six month hiatus, that doesn’t mean they weren’t hard at work during that time working on their remixes. According to Vin those projects have really informed their new work and inspired the direction Gold Fields are going to take with their original productions in the future.

“That’s the approach we’re going to take with our originals. Keep writing, keep putting out new stuff and not focus say on putting out a new album,” he reveals. “We want the freedom to write a song and just put it out.” As for new music, expect some soon!
