Birds Of Tokyo – ‘Anchor’

In late April, Perth boys Birds Of Tokyo dropped their new EP, Anchor. Today, the band have revealed a dark and watery music video for the EP’s title track.

The video for Anchor is directed by Australian-born, Los Angeles-based director and producer Kris Moyes, who is known for his work with artists like Sia, Beck, The Presets and Grizzly Bear.

Birds Of Tokyo frontman Ian Kenny says Anchor is about having someone to ground you in difficult times. “Sometimes people need someone to hold them in place while they’re in troubled waters — it can end up being ‘sink or swim’,” Kenny says.

“We all need that type of support sometimes but we don’t always ask for it. What’s even worse is that we don’t always notice when someone else needs it. So Anchor is a song for all the times that we didn’t notice.”

Birds Of Tokyo will embark on a national tour in support of their new EP this June.
