Dappled Cities – The Leopard (Unplugged At Music Feeds Studio)
It’s been a big year so far for Sydney crew Dappled Cities. Celebrating their big double-digit anniversary, the band announced a run of intimate 10th anniversary shows, getting up close and personal with the fans, who were able to pick and choose the tracks they wanted to hear performed. Prior to these, the band stopped by Music Feeds Studio for a bit of a jam and an interview. The shenanigans were all streamed live but we’ve got the goods here for those who missed out.
For the third and final unplugged performance of the day, Dappled Cities brought things back to a much more recent 2012. Boosted from their album of that year, Lake Air, the boys busted out an acoustic version of The Leopard. In its original setting, the track had an almost danceable beat to it, an atmospheric vibe and lofty guitars competing with the playful drumming. They slowed things down a bit in the studio, breathing new life into the track, which will no doubt be requested at their upcoming shows.
For their other two performances, the lads ran through Born At The Right Time, also featured on Lake Air as well as Battlewon which was released on 2006’s Granddance – a bit of a taste of the eclectic mix of new and old that fans can expect from their forthcoming run of 10th anniversary live shows. Stay tuned for the full interview.
