Future Music Festival 2014 Interviews: Tenzin
Music Feeds was lucky enough to hang backstage at Randwick Racecourse on the day of Future Music Festival 2014 in Sydney to chat to a few of the more noteworthy artists of the day. Who could be more noteworthy than homegrown Sydney boy Tenzin, who was spending the day hosting the festival’s highly-anticipated Safari Stage?
“It’s definitely an honour,” says Tenzin of being this year’s host. “It’s amazing, actually. Guys like Steve Aoki get to host that stage, it makes me feel pretty honoured. I was a bit scared at the start, but I guess because the way I play is pretty versatile, you can not smash it and keep the crowd there for other bands, the indie bands.”
It’s Tenzin’s third FMF so naturally he’s got some good stories: “Last Sunday I ended up in some dark warehouse…Sven Vath playing, it was like three in the morning, black, concrete floors, tin shed kind of vibe, couple of palm trees, and just Sven Vath playing techno. I was like, whoa, where am I? There’s always some crazy stuff happening.”
