Guy Sebastian On His New Sound, Upcoming Album & Thoughts On All Those Memes

We are currently experiencing the second coming of Guy Sebastian. 2016 has seen some new moves from the one-time Australian Idol winner, moves that seem a world away from his previous home of the mainstream. Dare we say it – but Guy Sebastian is earning some serious indie cred, and we can’t get enough of it.

Music Feeds caught up with Guy in his Sydney studio to chat about all these recent moves. From performing Like A Version with new-found partner in crime Paces, to performing at Splendour In The Grass for the first time ever, to his new single Candle and even his relationship with Nollsie, 13 years after Idol. If you’re wondering, yes, he too is all about the memes.

Guy also talks candidly about the epiphany that led to his direction change since his “weird” intro to the industry, and why he recently decided to “jump off the treadmill for a second” and take time to get inspired.

As for when we can expect an album, no date is been locked in yet, but he’s hoping for a November release and also revealed “it won’t be a standard, ‘here’s your album'” sort of release.”

Intruiging!
