Hayden Calnin – ‘Cut Love’

It’s of no surprise to discover that Hayden Calnin has a degree in film when you watch his epic new video for Cut Love.

This 8 minute track unfolds slowly, with icy, pensive electronic textures, rich hovering piano chords, and layers of boldly processed vocals. The video is set in a stark forest, a barely dressed man (dancer/choreographer Luke McFarlane) is dancing alone, and is met and embraced briefly by a woman, who then leaves him alone to writhe in the agony of her absence. She is later followed by the camera, and we watch as her own sadness unfolds.

The track is taken from Calnin’s first full length album, and it comes in two parts. Cut Love Part 1 is out now, and thankfully for us Cut Love Part 2 is not far behind it, release date May 2016.
