Interview: Cosmo’s Midnight On “Trashy Music” & Defining Their Next Sound

The twin brothers that make up Sydney’s Cosmo’s Midnight are in the midst of a national tour in celebration of their single Snare. They’re selling out shows left and right and it’s been a whirlwind few years for the boys, especially, they say, seeing as they started their career making “really trashy music”.

“We started from making really trashy music as [our previous project] Cosmo and Pat and then we were like, ‘Let’s do a departure from that,’ [and] started making stuff we thought was cool,” explain the boys. “Now we’re here.”

Cosmo’s Midnight released their Surge EP to much acclaim in 2013 and since then have been working on developing their sound even more. “Since the EP it’s kind of been like putting out singles and remixes and finding what we want to do next. We’ve just been working on the [next] EP and honing in on our next sound.”

The Cosmo’s Midnight boys also talk new video concepts and Snapchatting with fans.
